National Apple Festival held in north Moldova city

Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/ - Tens of agricultural producers and representatives of the business environment today assembled in Soroca, north Moldova, to participate in the seventh issue of the National Apple Festival. The event was organized by the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry, jointly with economic agents from Moldova and the Soroca district council.
The main events on the agenda of the festival will take place during the day, nearby the Soroca Fortress. The actions are aimed at popularizing and developing the agricultural sector, promoting the native apple producers, as well as the business specialized in modern technologies of processing apples and fruit planting material.
Exhibitions with sale, staged by native producers, a fair of traditional dishes, a parade of representative costumes for the festival, an exhibition of planting material were organized for the festival’s visitors.
Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Minister Vasile Bitca welcomed the participants in the seventh National Apple Festival. He stressed the importance of the event for Moldovan farmers. ‘’The festival has become a good platform of exchange of ideas and experience for the native producers, which might become a nice tradition not only for the northern region, but also for the entire country,’’ the official added.
