Moldovan cabinet approves lists of students benefitting from merit scholarships in 2017-2018

Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/- The cabinet approved today lists of students from higher education institutions and pupils from post-secondary technical vocational education institutions who will receive merit scholarships in 2017-2018, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The scholarships are available to support the academic performance of young people and increase the attractiveness of higher education and technical professionalism in the country.

Thus, 12 students from higher education will receive Republic Scholarship amounting to 1,385 lei, and 30 students will get Government Scholarship – 1,155 lei. At the same time, 20 Gaudeamus scholarships worth 840 lei each will awarded to students from the technical vocational education institutions.

Candidates’ lists of merit scholarships have been approved within the senate of higher education institutions and teaching councils of post-secondary technical vocational education institutions. Winners were selected on the basis of criteria such as: average of marks, educational, cultural and sports activities, curriculum vitae, publications and letters of recommendation.

Payment of scholarships will be made by each educational institution within the limits of budget allocations approved on the matter.
