Petrol, diesel prices to rise in Moldova

Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today set ceiling selling prices for the most demanded Premium-95 petrol at 17.51 lei for one litre against 17.40 lei earlier and for diesel at 15.20 lei for one litre, by 0.45 lei more against the previous period, for 20 September - 3 October.
The fuels’ prices increase again, after under an ANRE decision from 5 September, new higher ceiling prices were established, by 0.45 lei more for petrol and by 0.20 lei for diesel.
The new prices, set today, will enter into force at midnight, starting from 20 September till 3 October. Operators will have no right to sell fuels by retail at higher prices than the ones established by ANRE.
According to the international media, today morning, the Brent oil prices, at the London Exchange, with delivery in next November, dropped to 55.38 dollars for one barrel, after the increases which had taken place in the wake of the huge damages caused by the Harvey and Irma hurricanes. Two weeks ago, the Brent oil price was of 52.22 dollars for one barrel. Experts say that the oil has slightly cheapened on the eve of the publication of data on the USA’s trade reserves, due to be made public on 20 September.
At the same time, traders “froze” the transactions, expecting the outcomes of a ministerial meeting of the OPEC oil producing countries and the states which are not m embers of this cartel as regards the monitoring of the agreement on the cut in the oil production, due on 22 September.
