Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service extended today the yellow code of fire and drought till 26 September.
According to meteorologists, the exceptional fire class V and fire threat of forest strips and agricultural crops will last until 26 September on a large part of the country (especially southern and central regions). At the same time, the hydrological drought is maintained due to lack of precipitation. In this context, the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment asked the people and especially the economic agents to rationally consume the water resources.
The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service also warned the people about compliance with fire regulations. Firefighters have urged citizens not to light dry vegetation and household waste, to avoid ignition of rust and stubble. At the same time, the rescuers requested that in the event of a fire, to call the 901 Service, because of low humidity conditions, fire can spread rapidly. Subdivisions of the Moldsilva Agency have been mobilized to prevent and combat fires in the national forest area. Cimislia mayoralty has taken special control over garbage of locality, where regularly incinerators of waste occur.
According to city mayor Gheorghe Raileanu, the local administration will take more measures to combat this phenomenon. “In order to prevent violations, we will organize systematic raids, and will apply serious sanctions to the perpetrators, including the economic agents transporting the waste and firing them. As supervisors, the mayoralty officials can impose fines and already have necessary forms”, he said.
