Moldovan deputy premier meets executive director of Viitorul Institute

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan and Executive Director of the Viitorul (Future) Institute for Development and Social Initiatives Igor Munteanu tackled the Transnistrian settlement issue at a today’s meeting. The sides referred, in particular, to the subject of withdrawal of the military troops and ammunitions, illegally deployed in Moldova, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
In the context, Igor Munteanu presented to the deputy prime minister a memorial titled, Response Measures to Latest Provocative Actions by Operative Group of Russian Troops (GOTR), Illegally Deployed in Moldova. The document was worked out and signed by a part of the civil society, and highlights the harmful character of the presence of the foreign military, as well as the serious threats brought to Moldova’s security.
The deputy prime minister said that the authorities were keeping a close eye on the events taking place in the Transnistrian region and the Security Zone.
Gheorghe Balan reiterated the authorities’ willingness to hold an open and constructive dialogue with the civil society, in order to promote an efficient policy on the Transnistrian topic.
