Regulation on creation, updating space data services to be published in Official Journal of Moldova

Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/ - A decision on the approval of the regulation on norms of creation and updating of metadata for the sets and services of space data will be published in the 22 September issue of the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).

The regulation will allow enforcing the Law on the National Infrastructure of Space Data, adopted by the parliament on 17 November 2016. The normative act will regulate activities emerging in the process of establishing the National Infrastructure of Space Data of Moldova and the standards related to the space data.

The document removes the political restrictions as regards the geo-information needed to implement the EU policies in the environment field and policies with impact on the environment, with the management of space data through a single Geoportal INDS.

Under the regulation, the description of the sets of space data through metadata will allow classifying the data according to establishing the geographical position, time references, its quality and validity in line with the international acts. The document provides also for the creation of a guide of technical orientation for space data.
