Moldovan MPs re-vote law on prevention, fighting terrorism

Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/ - Fifty five MPs today repeatedly voted the law on the prevention and fighting terrorism, rejected by President Igor Dodon.
The document turned down by the head of state establishes the legal and organizational framework of the activity of prevention and combating of terrorism in Moldova, the way the work of the specialized subdivisions in the prevention and combating of terrorism, actions undertaken by central and local public authorities, public associations and organizations, decision-makers are coordinated.
The acts establishes also the creation of territorial modules of combating terrorism (territorial anti-terrorist council), which will be made up of the leaders of district councils, territorial representatives of the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS), policemen and representatives of the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service.
The law contains also new provisions on checking passengers of air companies. To carry out measures of ensuring the anti-terror security, the air companies making flights to/from Moldova are obliged to report to SIS, after embarking onboard the airship, but not later than the moment of take-off, the list of passengers, so that the latter could be checked before undergoing the border control in the destination country.
