Moldova attends foreign ministers meeting of format GUAM + USA

Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Lilian Darii participated today at the Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization for Economic Development and Democracy – GUAM within the format ‘GUAM+USA’, on the margins of the 72nd United Nations General Assembly held in New York, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.  
  
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the cooperation in areas of common interest with the United States, which is regarded as a traditional partner of the GUAM Organization, while at the same time emphasizing the U.S. contribution in strengthening the capacity building of the Organization to combat organized crime and terrorism, as well as the opportunity of continuing the implementation of joint projects, particularly with the United States Department of State.  

These discussions also included the subject of functioning of the GUAM’s Virtual Centre with cryptographic protection of information for combating terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking and other serious crimes.
