PM urges Moldovan Diaspora from Israel to actively get involved in process of Moldova's modernization

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip met representatives of the Moldovan Diaspora from the State of Israel and the community of Jews born in Moldova in Tel Aviv today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Pavel Filip noted that he wanted very much to have this meeting, in order to discuss with the Diaspora, the experience and expertise of which are valuable for Moldova’s advancement on the reforms’ way.
During the dialogue, the prime minister referred to discussions held with the authorities of the State of Israel for signing an agreement on social protection of Moldovan migrants working in this country. Thus, the years worked in Israel will be taken into consideration when calculating the pension. At the same time, the PM touched upon reforms promoted by the cabinet, especially actions undertaken to improve the business environment, create new jobs, attract investments into the national economy.
In the context, the prime minister urged Diaspora’s representatives to actively get involved in the process of Moldova’s modernization. To this end, Excellence Groups of the Diaspora were created, through which Moldovans who left abroad can get directly involved in working out proposals of public policies and projects due to be carried out in Moldova. Also, Pavel Filip said the mechanism of Diaspora’s involvement in the good organization of the state’s administration would be extended.
The dialogue had an open and interactive character. Diaspora’s representatives informed about challenges they faced, among which the problem of raising the money for the work carried out, possibility of legal employment, without the involvement of intermediary firms, opening of low-cost flights between Moldova and Israel.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that these problems were known and the government made efforts for their settlement.
At the same time, the Diaspora’s representatives showed interest in the latest developments in Moldova and displayed willingness to help modernize the country.
In the end of the meeting, the prime minister thanked the fellow countrymen for their contribution to the promotion of Moldova’s positive image abroad, in the preservation and perpetuation of the national traditions and culture.
Statistics data shows that about 25,000 Moldovan citizens live in the State of Israel. Most of them work in the constructions sector and the field of assistance at residence to elderly people.
