Acting mayor of Chisinau asks international organisations to get involved in administrative reform of city hall

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/- Acting mayor of Chisinau Silvia Radu today asked international organizations to get involved in the administrative reform of the city hall.

In the Chisinau city hall there are more departments which functions overlap. “We talked to foreign donors and they are ready to support us in this complex process. Currently there are about 50 or more departments that need to be restructured. The point is that there are departments that have up to 800 employees, which seems to me exaggerated”, Radu said.

At the same time, the acting mayor asked the city hall employees to show more responsibility and mobilization in solving the problems of the residents. “It is a very complicated situation within the institution, especially, lack of organization. I want to tell you that no matter how long I take the interim, we either work more seriously or who does not want to work, to go home and give free place for people who want to work in the interest of the capital. I do not care what political sympathies you have, or what party cards in your pockets, people want from us solutions to their problems and not to do politics at the city hall”, Radu said.

Also, the official pointed out “immediate priorities are: city cleanliness, fluidity of traffic, preparing for cold season and increasing the transparency of city hall activity”.

The acting mayor also announced that today she is going to issue an order whereby all city hall structures will be required to show the internet expenses.

Former director of Gas Natural Fenosa company Silvia Radu, appointed as deputy mayor of the capital last week, will perform the duties of acting mayor, while mayor Dorin Chirtoaca is suspended from office.
