“Do not involve us, the political factor, in discussions on the editorial policy of some media outlets. We live in the 21st century in a market economy. Do not lay the blame on the political factor’s intervention in the media, by demanding the intervention of the political factor,” Andrian Candu said.
In his capacity of Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu created a working group for improving the mass media legislation, in order to ensure a good legal basis. The group, set up in last June, brings together journalists, experts of the civil society, representatives of development partners. This platform is to present in parliament a package of legislative norms for the regulation of the media market of Moldova, according to the European norms. “We do not get involved in the activity of the working group. We organize meetings only to see the status of the drafts worked out; we have no other interventions,” the parliament speaker said.
