Innovation in Governance Regional Forum starts in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/ - Government Secretary General Lilia Palii today participated in the opening of the fourth issue of the Innovation in Governance Regional Forum, titled, To Global Goals through Efficient Governance. Attending the event were more than 200 experts in the innovations sector, cabinet officials, national and international experts, including representatives of the business environment and scientific community from about 20 countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In her speech, the government’s secretary general highlighted the major achievements of the governance as regards the public administration reform and modernization of public services, such as: signing of the Memorandum with the International Monetary Fund; approval of the Strategy on public administration reform for 2016-2020 and of an action plan on the reform of modernizing public services for 2017-2021. Also, the secretary general mentioned the creation of the Centre for Reforms’ Implementation; reform of the institutions with control duties; creation of the Public Services Agency based on the merger and reorganization of five state institutions.
“The final goal of the public administration reform is to create a modern, professional public administration, flexible but efficient and aimed at providing quality public services, in line with the needs and expectations of the residents. Special importance in the reform’s implementation will be paid to optimizing the way the public administration provides services to citizens, including aspects dealing with the placement, cost, services’ speed and quality. At the same time, the number of public services provided by electronic means is to be extended and the authorities will work based on qualitative, transparent procedures and in accordance with European standards,” Lilia Palii said.
The Innovation in Governance Regional Forum will be held during three days; on this period, decision-makers will present models of providing public services according to the single window; contribution of innovations in the development of an efficient public sector, promotion of transparency and integrity; institutional development for providing qualitative public services. At the same time, the participants will have possibility to exchange experience in the field of modern challenges in the public sector, both from the viewpoint of providers and from the one of users of public services.
