Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ – The specialised republican horse racing and modern pentathlon school in Chisinau was transferred from the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, according to a government decision approved today.
The reorganisation reason is that the institution "has a sporting as well as educational profile".
Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc, mentioned in the Government meeting that the specialised republican horse riding school and modern pentathlon was founded in 1956. During its operation, hundreds of performance athletes were trained and educated. The school has prepared six international masters of sport and 22 masters of sport.
At present, 12 teachers educate and train 172 students. The school does not have sporting equipment for horse riding and modern pentathlon, all buildings and agricultural facilities are old and require major repairs.
