Direct flights to Switzerland to be made from Moldova

Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved the signing of an agreement between the Moldovan government and the Swiss Federal Council on regular air services. The document regulates possibility to make direct flights between the two states, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The agreement establishes principles of functioning of the bilateral air services, including norms concerning the aviation security, taxes and certificates of navigability and competence.   

This measure improves the investment climate from Moldova and strengthens the diplomatic and economic relations between the two states. Also, the document facilitates the opening of the Moldovan air services market and diversifies the destinations of operating direct flights from Chisinau.  

Statistics data shows that, in the last year, about 17,000 travelers on the route Moldova – Switzerland were recorded. The flights were carried out through connections in third cities.
