Moldovan cabinet focused on strengthening inter-ethnic relations

Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved an action plan for 2017-2020 on the implementation of a strategy of strengthening the inter-ethnic relations in Moldova for 2017-2027. The document was worked out based on principles of participation, non-discrimination, transparency and gender equality, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The action plan sets four-year term goals and represents the first of those three stages of implementing the Strategy. Thus, the priority actions regard four sectors: public life, language as means of integration, inter-cultural dialogue and civic affiliation to the state Republic of Moldova, as well as mass media.

The authorities will undertake measures of encouraging the equal participation of all citizens in the state administration and public service and will create friendly pre-requisites for the inter-cultural education. Also, actions will be taken to ensure the protection and development of the languages of national minorities, as well as to promote the linguistic diversity.  

About 4.7 million lei is planned for the implementation of the 2017-2020 action plan. The money will be earmarked from the state budget and foreign assistance, within the limit of the resources available.
