Almost 300 Moldovan specialists to get training for free in banking, non – banking financial sectors

Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ – Around 300 specialists will be trained for free in the financial banking and non – banking, according to a memorandum signed by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), the National Commission of Financial Market and Centre of Excellence Economy and Finance today.
The Memorandum provides for the creation of a Practical Continuous Training Centre for Finance Specialists at the Centre of Excellence in Economics and Finance. There will be trained 250 – 300 persons in 2019, and 15 specialists will be trained to teach courses till then. In selecting beneficiaries, they will be taken into account in various social groups, such as employees in banking, non – banking sectors, as well as people in the field, but which are currently unemployed.
During the event, the state secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Igor Sarov, said that the project was extremely necessary because the financial services being the basis of Moldova’s development. "We need skilled employees, so they will fit into the workforce more easily. We thank the financiers for providing the necessary support and the specialists who will contribute to the project implementation," said Sarov.
At her turn, Ambassador of Austria to Moldova, Christine Freilinger, said that "Austria is likely to develop strong financial markets, and for that persons must acquire knowledge not only in theory but in practice too, that is which this project will allow."
"We have a great pleasure to finance the programme, which will ensure the long – term training of specialists and developing their capacities," said Alexander Karner, head of the Office of the Austrian Development Agency, being one of the project sponsors.
Similarly, BNM deputy governor, Cristina Harea, remarked that the project would offer the possibility to be closer to the market needs. "The previously made studies are not enough, so we need to promote the continuous development of persons. We already look forward to seeing how the project will run and thanks to our partners for financial support," said Harea.
The programme is funded by the Austrian Agency for Development at 50 per cent, which is about €500 thousand, and by the project international partners, as well, in amount of 50 per cent.
