Moldovan deputy premier takes part in ceremony on opening of annexes to health centre in security zone

Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister, Gheorghe Balan, participated at inauguration ceremony of new annexes of Varnita health centre today. The event was attended by EU Ambassador, Peter Michalko, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Permanent Representative to Moldova, Dafina Gherceva, and representatives of local public authorities, the office for reintegration policies’ press service has reported.
Deputy Prime Minister, Gheorghe Balan, mentioned in his speech the importance of Public health – sanitary institution "Varniţa Health Centre", which annually grants free medical assistance to over 13 thousand persons, most of whom reside in Bender, Tiraspol and Slobozia cities.
Also, Gheorghe Balan has specified that the health centre’s expansion comes as a result of an increase of applicants for medical services from the left bank of the Dniester river and following exact actions of support from the EU and UNDP.
Finally, Deputy Prime Minister, Gheorghe Balan, expressed gratitude for the consistent support offered by the international partners involved and mentioned that Moldova’s authorities have manifested continuous openness in promotion of projects meant to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of both banks of the Dniester river.
There is to mention that the government of Moldova, promotes multiple community development actions in the Security Zone (ZS) and in localities on the left bank of the Dniester. For example, in 2011 – 2017, 10 programmes of Moldova’s reintegration activities were implemented, with the allocation of MDL 82 million and realization of 306 projects for renovation and modernization of key social institutions (educational, social, medical, sports, cultural and artistic), including local authorities of Varnita, during that period, have benefited from financial allocations worth more than MDL 5 mln for realization of 12 development projects.
