Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/- Transnistrian authorities today carry out “trainings for mobilization of human resources”, describing as “an element of civil protection measures”, according to electronic sources in Tiraspol.
According to the so-called interior ministry of the Transnistrian region, the mobilization action aims “to train reservists by effective means so that they can provide aid to the people in case of emergencies, natural or technical situations”. At the same time, the authorities from the left bank of the Dniestre noted “it is necessary to know the exact information about human resources, which can count if necessary”.
According to a press release by the so-called interior ministry of the Transnistrian region, individuals who have received summons for today’s exercises will be directed only to areas where security will be provided.
At the same time, several experts from Moldova and Ukraine are skeptical of the “mobilization of human resources” announced by Tiraspol.
Thus, an expert from Odessa, Artiom Filipenko, well knowing the situation on the left bank of the Dniestre, commented in Ukrainian media and social networks that such explanations of Tiraspol “are at least idle”. “There have been natural disasters in the Transnistrian region – floods, strong winds, icy, etc, but all these situations are not in line with the need to carry out massive mobilization exclusively of male population alone. I mention that in Ukraine, where is war the third year, such actions have not been organized”, Filipenko said.
“The answer is on the surface and the question is: if tomorrow is war? Since 1992, an alleged threat and “aggression” from Moldova were a permanent mobilizing factor in the unrecognized republic”, the expert said.
At the same time, Filipenko noted “if until 2014 the main enemy was considered Moldova, then since 2014 the Transnistrian region should avoid “a war on two fronts”. Apparently, the Tiraspol regime is careful and does not make any statements about Crimean membership or DNR-LNR support, but the intensity of exercises carried out by soldiers from the left bank of the Dniestre has significantly increased”.
In the context, the source refers to expert from Moldova Rosian Vasiloi, whereby during 2016 troops from Transnistria organized 48 applications, and by May 2017 – already 32.
Men aged 18-50 years were summoned at the military commissariats of the region’s localities to “mobilization of human resources” on 17 November. People aged 50-60 have only received invitations.
