According to the cited source, more women than men were represented at ballot boxes. "The total figure represents 8.44 per cent of total number of voters. Over 1,300 voters are aged 18 – 25, 6,753 are 26 – 40, 11,227 are 41 – 55, 23,411 are 56 – 70, and 10,553 are over 71. From suburbs, the lowest turnout is attested in Cruzesti, and largest in Sangera," said Vitalie Miron.
Similarly, Promo – LEX Association announced that local referendum observers noticed some violations today, including: delayed voting stations, unsealed ballot boxes and presence of materials of publicity within polling stations, facts confirmed by the deputy chairman of Chisinau constituency electoral council.
"At two polling stations, an electoral bill was certified, which had already been removed. Also, it was confirmed that there were boxes that were improperly sealed. As such, in some offices two or three seals were applied instead of four because of their deterioration or the inattention of members. There were also two cases when voters photographed ballots, two cases of tearing ballot, a case where voter refused to apply security stamp and two cases when citizens refused to be included in supplementary list," said Vitalie Miron.
The polling stations opened at 07:00 a.m. and will close at 09:00 p.m. today.
