Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/- Following the visit by Prime Minister Pavel Filip to Israel, direct flights will be operated between Moldova and Israel. They will be conducted from 5 June 2018, initially once a week, on Tuesdays, and from 6 July 2018 – twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The launch of the direct flights was possible after the government approved removal of limitations on the number of airlines that can operate flights between Moldova and Israel. Following the promotion of the initiative, the second largest airline operator in Israel, ARKIA Israeli Airlines, applied for the launch of Chisinau-Tel Aviv route.
The removal of flight restrictions between Moldova and Israel corresponds to the government’s goal of liberalizing the air transport market. Thus, citizens of Moldova will be provided with safe and affordable air transport.
