Moldovan, Ukrainian PMs agree on signing of agreement on road, air transports' liberalisation

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodimir Groisman, agreed to sign Agreements on the liberalisation on road and air transports by the end of 2017. The decision was made at the meeting held in the margins of the Tbilisi Belt and Road Forum 2017 today.
According the government’s communication and protocol department, the officials also agreed to increase in 2018 quota for international goods carriers from 43 to 60 thousand permits. Similarly, Prime Ministers Filip and Groisman agreed to increase the term of international drivers in Moldova on the territory of Ukraine. As such, they will be able to stay on the territory of the neighboring country for more than 90 days.
In other news, Pavel Filip thanked the Ukrainian side for starting joint control of the Moldovan – Ukrainian border on the Transnistrian segment. This fact, according to the Moldovan Prime Minister, allowed some important decisions to be made in the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, including the signing of protocols between Chisinau and Tiraspol in education, telecommunication and agriculture.
Also, Pavel Filip mentioned that “Moldova has already accomplished all inner procedures for implementation of Agreement on joint control of persons, means of transport, goods and things at the common border crossing points of Moldovan – Ukrainian state border signed in early October 2017 in Moldovan capital. "I think we can already initiate projects’ co – ordination as to open new control points at the border," said the Prime Minister of Moldova.
Prime Ministers Pavel Filip and Volodimir Groisman appreciated the resumption in October 2017 of the work of the Joint Commission on demarcation of the state border. The Heads of Governments also agreed to intensify their work of coordinating the text of the Agreement on the Operation of the Dniestrean Hydroelectric Complex.
