Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/- A National Agency for Research and Development will be set up in February 2018, which will be subordinated to the government as a result of the public administration reform.
In September 2017, the parliament adopted a law amending and supplementing certain acts which amended the Code on science and innovation of Moldova.
“I hope so we can find effective solutions to the country’s development issues, given the large number of researchers and academics living abroad. Regardless of whether they will return for a short time, or come back for a long time, or they will help at a distance, any contribution will count and will be useful”, the head of the World Organisation for Migration in Moldova, Antonio Polosa, said.
“The experience of our compatriots residing abroad in both humanitarian and accurate sciences is very important. It can serve to conceptualize evidence-based public policies and identify gaps and public policies issues that need to be improved”, Deputy Head of the Diaspora Relations Bureau Ghenadie Slobodeniuc said.
The creation of this agency is based on France’s experience in conceptualizing a similar agency – the National Agency for Research.
