Moldovan parliament hosts exhibition on urging people to vote

Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s parliament on 5-9 February hosts an exhibition of photos titled ”Ieși la vot” (Go to Vote), organized by the Promo-LEX Association, within the ”ALEGE gândirea critică” (CHOOSE Critical Thinking) campaign of civic and electoral education, the parliament’s communication and public relations has reported.    

The goal of the exhibition is to attract attention to the importance of citizens’ involvement in information and apolitical mobilization campaigns, as well as to consequences of their non-involvement for the development of democracy in Moldova.

The photos are made by the Promo-LEX Association’s team in 2015-2017, within campaigns of voters’ apolitical mobilization, organized in the context of the general local polls from 2015, presidential elections from 2016 and new local polls from 14 May and 19 November 2017.  

The CHOOSE Critical Thinking campaign of civic and electoral education is held on 2 February – 2 March 2018 and provides for meetings with young people from ten settlements of Moldova, as well as organization of an exhibition of photos at public institutions from more settlements: Moldova’s parliament, government, local public authorities from the Calarasi town, Edinet town, Balti and Comrat municipalities.   

The Promo-LEX Association is a non-governmental organization, the goal of which is developing democracy in Moldova, including the Transnistrian region, through the promotion and defence of human rights, monitoring the democratic processes and strengthening the civil society.
