Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/ - The deputy head of the anti-fraud and compliance department at the Customs Service was detailed in a corruption file in late last January.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the spokeswoman for the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), Angela Starinschi, has said that, in the end of January 2018, CNA and the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office carried out an operation as a result of which five people were detained and subsequently arrested.
“At present, three persons are arrested and are in the CNA’s ward, another two people were placed in home arrest. For the time being, we cannot provide more details about the file in which these persons are prosecuted, given that, more operative and investigation actions are currently taking place. Moreover, we actively cooperate with colleagues of Ukraine, from whom we expect confirmations,” Starinschi noted.
At the same time, Starinschi added that CNA and the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office would come up with details, when the entire scheme is disclosed.
