Moldovan deputy prime minister meets with Special Representative of Russia in Transnistrian settlement

Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic today had a meeting with the Special Representative of the Russian Federation in the Transnistrian settlement Serghei Gubarev, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.

The officials exchanged views on recent developments of Transnistrian file, some aspects of the Chisinau – Tiraspol dialogue, situation in Security Zone (ZS), as well as the need to advance the regulatory process and streamline the work of Joint Control Commission (CUC).

The Special Representative of Russia congratulated Cristina Lesnic on the occasion of her appointment as Deputy Prime Minister in charge for implementation of Moldova’s reintegration policies, noting that he appreciated the results achieved in 2017 within negotiation process, aiming to improve lives of the inhabitants on both sides of the Dniester river.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister specified the necessity of stepping up the agreements agreed in negotiations in 2017, focusing on solving other issues of major public interest, maintaining constructive dynamics within all Transnistrian settlement dialogue platforms, stating that in the second decade of February, a first official meeting would take place at the level of the political representatives from Chisinau and Tiraspol.

Also, the Deputy Prime Minister informed about actions taken by Moldovan side to implement the protocol decisions signed in 2017, as well as positive initiatives of the Government of Moldova to bring the public authorities closer to the citizen’s problems and solve them in cooperation with all relevant participants.
