ÎIn 2018 priority of Moldovan government, parliament to be implementation of Association Agreement

Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/ – The Government and Parliament will monitor projects and reforms’ implementation approved 2017 and continue to carry out subjects included within Association Agreement signed with EU. The announcement was made by Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and Speaker of Parliament, Andrian Candu, today, following a joint meeting of Legislature and Executive.
At a press conference, speaker Andrian Candu stated that there were discussed previous achievements and future priorities at the meeting. "In the meeting today we synchronized future agendas, so we will implement proposed actions more effectively. Last year, we implemented the reform of the government, that of the pension one, approved law on meal tickets and project Prima Casa (The first home). This year, we will monitor their implementation and effectiveness for citizens. We have also experienced small arrears, but we notice economic growth, which is why we are glad. The current year is an electoral one, but we decided to detach ourselves from electoral competition and implement best practices and actions," said Candu.
At his turn, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Pavel Filip, stated that 2017 registered an economic growth of 4 per cent, which made it possible to pay pensions and wages on time but also make investments into social sphere. "Similarly, one important fact is that Banca Transilvania in Romania became a shareholder of Victoriabank, which is a very good thing for the banking system in our country," said Filip.
"This year, the actions of Government and Parliament will focus on implementation of Roadmap and provisions included within Association Agreement. We also set draft state budget law for 2019 to be examined and adopted by the end of the spring parliamentary session 2018. The priorities remain package of laws needed to reform judiciary, pensions, energy sector, human rights, media law, fight against corruption, financial and banking sector, development of road infrastructure, second and third tranches of EU macro – financial assistance, etc.", said PM.
Heads of parliamentary committees and members of the Cabinet of Ministers attended the discussions today. Parliament and Government convene in a joint meeting at the beginning of parliamentary sessions.
