Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/- The list of commemorative, holiday and rest days will be complemented with a new professional holiday – Competition Day. The parliament adopted a draft amendment to the legislation in this regard today.
The initiative belongs to a group of MPs and aims to promote in society a competitive culture and protection of consumers’ interests.
The draft was worked out by the Competition Council and will adjust Moldova to good international practices.
The Competition Day will be a working day and will be marked annually on 30 June, when the law on the protection of competition was adopted in 2000.
In most countries, the Competition Day is marked on 5 December. This holiday was set up in 2010 at the initiative of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development to mark the 30th anniversary of the adoption by the UN General Assembly of a set of fair principles and rules agreed at multilateral level to control commercial practices.
