Park of ambulances to be fully renewed in Moldova in 2018

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ – The ambulance park in Moldova will be completely renewed in 2018. The state secretary of the Ministry of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection (MSMPS), Boris Gilca, made this statement in an exclusive interview for the agency.

According to the cited source, the modernization of emergency medical service is a priority for healthcare system, while procurement of new ambulances at national level will increase quality and speed of emergency medical services.

"The ambulance park has not been renewed since proclamation of independence. So far, there have been made just some donations. The government allocated MDL 273 million on procurement of new ambulances for 2018, which will be performing and adequately endowed. They are going to reach every district of the country," said Boris Gilca.

According to the ministry of the MSMPS’s information and media communication service, around 300 ambulances are to be purchased from allocated amount. At present, there are 366 ambulances in Moldova.
