Four companies submit bids for supply of electric energy in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Gas Natural Fenosa Group in Moldova has sent applications on bids to potential suppliers of electric energy for the next season. Four companies from Moldova and Ukraine, out of the 20 ones invited to participate in the tender, accepted the invitation to take part in the next stages of the process of selecting bids, launched by the aforementioned Moldovan enterprise on 31 January.
The company Energocom, Kuchurgan power plant, DTEK Trading from Pavlodar and Donbasenergo from Ukraine remained participants in the tender. The Gas Natural Fenosa Group in Moldova sent applications on reception of bids for purchasing electric energy to a number of 20 providers of electricity and traders from Moldova, Ukraine and Romania.
Those four potential suppliers must present to Gas Natural Fenosa Group proposals till 31 March 2018, 13:00, when during a two-round tender, the bids unveiled will be assessed, validated and the winner will be nominated. The final stage provides for the signing, in the term established, of the new contract on procurement of electric energy and its presentation to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) for approval.
The companies of Gas Natural Fenosa Group in Moldova in late last January started the process of applying for bids for the purchasing of electric energy for the period 1 April 2018 – 31 March 2019. The old contracts expire on 31 March, this year.
In 2017, the operators regulated on Moldova’s energy market, including the Gas Natural Fenosa Group in Moldova, signed contracts with Energocom on the buying of electric energy for the period 1 April 2017 – 31 March 2018, just on the day when the old contract expired - 31 March. The bid of the Ukrainians from DTEK was accepted due to a more advantageous price – 49.9 dollars for one MW.
In late last June, Energocom said that, as of 7 June, it was buying a part of the electricity for Moldova’s needs from the Kuchurgan power plant at a price of 45 dollars for one MW/hour. The price is by ten per cent lower against the one paid to DTEK Trading (Ukraine) and, respectively, the one paid earlier, the Economics Ministry said.
According to the contracts signed between Energocom and providers in 2016, the electric energy was supplied at a price of 48.995 dollars for one MW/hour on the period 1 April 2016 – 31 March 2017, against 67.95 dollars paid till 1 March 2016.
The Gas Natural Group in Moldova is the biggest provider of electric energy for end consumers, with a number of more than 700,000 clients.
