SIS director applied for resignation

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/- Director of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) Vitalie Pirlog has resigned. An application in this regard was submitted to parliament on 19 February, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
“The option of withdrawing from the position of the SIS Director and further activating only on the INTERPOL dimension is based on the desire to continue those important reforms in the INTERPOL File Control Commission”, the application reads.
The resignation application is under examination at the legal commission on rules and immunities.
Pirlog was appointed by the parliament as SIS Director for a five-year period in December 2017.
