Inter-parliamentary conference with participation of Georgia, Ukraine to be held in Chisinau in next March

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - A trilateral inter-parliamentary conference, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, will take place in Chisinau on 2 March. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made statements to this effect in an interview given to a Ukrainian publication.
According to Candu, the event is organized by the Moldovan parliament, at an initiative of the parliament speakers of Ukraine and Georgia, in partnership with the Atlantic Council. In the end of the conference, the participants will approve a resolution on a joint security commitment and European integration aspirations of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia.
In the same interview, the Moldovan parliament speaker noted that, at the conference, the discussions would be focused, to a great extent, on the problem of occupied territories, Russian propaganda, Russia’s interference with the domestic affairs of the three countries.
“The issue of occupied territories is common for us. A joint goal of the three countries is also the way of European integration, the carrying out of which implies long-lasting and not at all easy transformations in more sectors,” Candu said.
In the same interview, the Moldovan official approached subjects on the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, participation of the country’s servicemen in international exercises and Moldova’s bilateral relations with Ukraine.
