Moldovan decision-makers approve national action plan on enforcement of UN resolution on women's role in ensuring peace and security

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic today chaired a meeting of the high-level working group which is technically in charge of the elaboration of a national action plan on the enforcement of the United Nations Security Council’s Resolution 1325 on women’s role in ensuring peace and security, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
At the meeting, the deputy prime minister stressed the importance of women’s involvement in political and decision-making processes from diverse sectors. In this respect, she noted the positive experience of Sweden.
During the event, in which representatives of the central and local public administration authorities, as well as of the civil society participated, national adviser Natalia Albu unveiled the final draft of the action plan, put up for discussions.
The concerned action plan was approved on principle and is to go through procedures of approval and public consultation with interested institutions. The plan is to be given final touches and promoted in a short term.
