Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - When we speak about the future of Moldova and where we want to be, regretfully, security elements appear, threats that winter and economic sanctions are coming. Next week, we organize, for the first time in the history of Moldova’s parliament, a security conference, during which we will have 15 delegations, including at the level of parliaments’ leadership, well-known security experts. The event is held along with colleagues from Georgia, Ukraine and in partnership with the Atlantic Council.
Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made statements to this effect at a today’s meeting with students of the Moldovan State University (USM), Faculty of International Relations, Political and Administrative Sciences (FRISPA), the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
According to the speaker, to go through all transformations in each sector, each of us, each citizen must understand that it is up to us how quickly we will be member of the western world and will become eligible for the European Union.
At the same time, asked about the geopolitics and elections, Andrian Candu said that “as we near the polls and the democratic exercise, geopolitical disputes appear about the language, statehood supporters, unionists, as the weak politics raise subjects on identity, as it is much easier to divide the country between East and West, to assume a part of the voters and participate in elections.” Candu spoke out for strengthening the institutions, fight against corruption and enforcement of the law equally for all Moldova’s residents.
Students asked the parliament speaker about fighting corruption, reforms, First Home programme and meal vouchers, as well as discussed the discipline, rule of law state, responsibility and models of development.
The public lesson took place today within the events occasioned by the marking of the FRISPA Student Day on 19-23 February 2018.
