Pro-Moldova resolution recorded in US Congress

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/- A pro-Moldova resolution was recently recorded by two congressmen David Price and Pete Olson in the US Congress House of Representatives. The US officials gesture was welcomed by the leadership of the Democratic Party of Moldova which showed confidence that the document will soon receive the vote of the US House of Representatives “which will help strengthen the strategic dialogue between Moldova and the United States”.
The document will state the US support for the territorial integrity of Moldova and the Transnistrian conflict settlement, as well as the desire to boost the Moldovan-American cooperation.
According to a press release by the Democrats’ press service, the party welcomes the mention in an official document to the US parliament, “US support for the territorial integrity of our country and Transnistrian conflict settlement and the desire to boost the Moldovan-American cooperation”.
“We express our appreciation that this document reaffirms Moldova’s right to set external partnerships “without external constraints or pressures”, including deepening of our country’s relations with the EU. At the same time, we note that the American friends of Moldova are alongside our country in efforts to consolidate democracy, economic development, reforms, as well as to increase energy security and protect the information space. We are confident that this resolution will soon receive the vote of the US House of Representatives, which will help strengthen the strategic dialogue and the political, economic, social and security cooperation between Moldova and the United States”, the communiqué reads.
In December last year, PDM leadership paid a visit to Washington. PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc met Congressman Pete Olson and discussed the consolidation of Moldovan-American relations and US support for Moldova.
