Moldovan cabinet to earmark about six million lei to remove consequences of natural calamities

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ – There will be earmarked almost MDL 6 million from the Government intervention fund (FIG) for liquidation of consequences of natural disasters. According to a decision approved at the meeting of Executive today, resources will be used to repair a kindergarten from Ungheni district, a sports school in Drochia, as well as cultural objectives in Chisinau, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
For repairs of kindergarten Prietenia in Pirlita village, Ungheni district, it will be allocated MDL 3.17 million. It is worth mentioning that local authorities already transferred MDL 30 thousand for it. Also, it will be allocated additional financial resources amounting to MDL 472.5 thousand for finishing of roof rehabilitation of the district sports school in Drochia. Previously, it was transferred the amount of MDL 462,000 to this effect. Both edifices suffered from heavy rains in summers of 2016 and 2017, respectively.
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research will get MDL 2.32 million to liquidate consequences of abundant snowfall in April 2017. The money will be used to repair the National Museum of History of Moldova, house – museum A. S. Puskin, national theater Mihai Eminescu and headquarters of national folk dance ensemble Joc.
The Government intervention fund is intended to finance urgent expenses related to liquidation of consequences of natural disasters in case of epidemics, fires and other crisis situations.
