Moldovan government to provide merit-based scholarships to best students training for doctor's degree

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved the providing seven merit-based scholarships of the government worth 2,500 lei each, as well as of another nominal scholarships (according to sectors) worth 2,000 lei each to students training for doctor’s degree, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Twenty one students from six education institutions organizing higher studies for doctor’s degree participated in the contest in all. The files were assessed by five groups of experts, selected according to the scientific field and the programmes for doctor’s degree unveiled.
To enhance the rate of participation in the contest in the long run, the Education, Culture and Research Ministry proposed proportional distribution of scholarships between those six scientific sectors established, as well as acceptance of files of the students training for doctor’s degree, who practice distance learning and of those who pay the education fee.
