Moldovan government approves creation of National Agency for Research and Development

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved the setting up of the National Agency for Research and Development, which will implement state’s policies in the research sector, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
At the same time, the authority will manage funds for the carrying out of projects on this dimension and will be in charge of assessing proposals on projects put up by researchers.
The entity will be created through the merger of the public institution, Agency for Research and Development, Agency for Innovation and Technological Transfer and the Centre for International Projects subordinated to the Moldova’s Academy of Sciences.
Also today, the cabinet approved a regulation on the organization and work of the Agency, as well as its chart. The new authority will be subordinated to the government and will have 34 employees.
