Moldovan foreign affairs minister receives U.S. ambassador

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi today received Ambassador of the United States to Moldova James Pettit, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The two officials tackled a string of subjects of mutual interest, as well as set priority goals of the Moldova-U.S. cooperation for the immediately next period. The sides discussed the agenda of high-level bilateral contacts, as well as the resumption of the activity of the joint working groups within the Moldova – United States Strategic Dialogue.
Ambassador James Pettit highly appreciated the results of a visit to Washington D.C. by the Moldovan diplomacy head (31 January – 2 February), as well as the Moldovan governance’s efforts to speed up the structural democratic reforms. For his part, Tudor Ulianovschi expressed the Moldovan side’s gratitude for the support and technical assistance provided by the USA to Moldova. Ulianovschi spoke out for the carrying out of the actions agreed upon during his meeting with Deputy Assistant Secretary in the State Department's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink.
The minister welcomed the registration on the agenda of the American Congress of a draft resolution on boosting the bilateral relations between the USA and Moldova and the U.S. support for the country’s territorial integrity.
