Representatives of 11 parliaments confirm participation in inter-parliamentary security conference

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/- Representatives of 11 parliaments, including six speakers of Georgia, Ukraine, Sweden, Norway, Lithuania and Latvia confirmed their participation in the first inter-parliamentary security conference “Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: Eastern Partnership and current security challenges”, held in Chisinau on 2 March 2018, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The participation was also confirmed by MEPs, representatives of the US Congress and notorious experts as Executive Vice President of the Atlantic Council Damon Wilson, former Deputy Assistant US Secretary of State and former chairman Freedom House David Kramer, Anders Aslund, Eurasia Center, Atlantic Council, Eurasia Centre Director John Herbst, Ambassador Asif Chaudhry, Associate Director RUSI, Jonathan Eyal, Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, former Deputy Secretary General of NATO, other international and regional experts.
The conference will focus on the issues related to misinformation, information security, energy and current common challenges, economic growth and the rule of law in the Eastern Partnership, in four discussion boards.
The event is organized in partnership with the Atlantic Council at the initiative of the speakers of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine.
