Moldova deputy prime minister says EU reaffirms commitment to support Moldova in European patt

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ – The EU reaffirmed its commitment to support Moldova in the European path, within conclusions of the EU Foreign Affairs Council. The announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Iurie Leanca, at a press conference today.
According to the official, the adopted conclusions represent an important step in development of positive relations between EU and Moldova. "Such summaries are presented to countries to which EU is paying attention. We will approve a note on these conclusions and will implement the presented suggestions. The conclusions are very comprehensive and are focused on dynamics of developments in Moldova. The document also sets out key priorities that EU will focus on relations with Moldova," said Leanca.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the presented conclusions have also exposed expectations of EU towards Moldova. "The totals are addressed not only to authorities but also to political class, civil society and citizens. They contain specific policy messages and official position on key areas. The main message is that EU reaffirms its commitment to work in close partnership with Moldova. The EU reaffirms that Moldova has succeeded in making more reforms in key areas. It is about the macroeconomic stability, banking sector and fight against corruption. A vital fact is that those totals differ completely from the ones presented in 2016, which attested to more negative moments," said Leanca.
The quoted source also said that the EU Foreign Affairs Council also set out in a document with a critical analysis of bank fraud, justice and mass – media. "Related to bank fraud, soon Kroll representatives will present new analyses conclusions, and then we will recover more goods removed from Moldova. The analysis presented by EU is constructive for Moldova’s authorities. We will take this into account and are committed to reforms in the areas concerned, and then will present the results," said Leanca.
The conclusions of the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union are to be discussed with MPs of Parliament.
The Council for Foreign Affairs of the European Union published its conclusions on Moldova today. The document has 27 points indicating progress and arrears of Moldova. The conclusions of the European officials were welcomed by Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu, and head of Democrats’ party of Moldova (PDM), Vlad Plahotniuc.
