Moldovan prime minister takes into attention ensuring food security

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ – The current situation in the field of food safety was analyzed at a working meeting held at Government today. Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, was informed on checks carried out by the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) and undertaken measures to prevent selling of non – conforming food products, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In the context, the Prime Minister emphasized that observance of consumer interests in food quality has remained a Government priority, while ANSA being responsible authority for monitoring situation on that segment. As such, the Prime Minister outlined the importance of continuing the product quality controls within commercial networks, but also planning additional measures to protect consumers.
It was also highlighted the need to maintain a permanent interaction between citizens and ANSA to facilitate reporting of violations. "The direct connection with persons is very vital. While entering the store, the citizens expect to see through concrete actions that ANSA takes care of their health," said PM.
