Moldovan foreign minister meets with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Security Policy

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ – Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, met with Federico Mogherini, Vice-President of the European Commission, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
According to the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, interlocutors exchanged views on the Conclusions on Moldova, adopted by the EU Foreign Affairs Council today. Minister Ulianovschi appreciated the Conclusions as a balanced document that recognises both progress in implementing reforms and points to areas where there are expected more visible results. Referred to it, Tudor Ulianovschi informed about major internal developments, especially within justice, investigation of bank fraud and fight against corruption.
Federica Mogherini said that discussions on Moldova in the EU Foreign Affairs Council showed interest and commitment of the Member States for Moldova. The European Commissioner assured the Moldovan side on EU’s strong support for reforms based upon Association Agreement. The High Representative also encouraged Moldova to continue participating in the CSDP/Common Security/Defence/Commonwealth of EU missions.
The officials exchanged views on the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict. Minister Ulianovschi appreciated EU’s support for addressing issues in the 5+2 negotiations agenda.
At the end of the meeting, Moldovan minister forwarded an invitation to the High Representative to visit Moldova.
