Moldova to present priorities in promoting, protecting human rights

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/- Foreign and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi will pay a working visit to Geneva, Switzerland, on 28 February-1 March, to attend the 37th meeting of the UN Human Rights Council and the regional forum on sustainable development in the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) member states, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media relations service has reported.
The Moldovan official will deliver a speech on Moldova’s priorities in promoting and protecting human rights, national reforms and progress in the relevant field.
Also, the foreign minister will approach the priorities of the Moldova 2020 Development Strategy, implementation of the Agenda 2030 and comprehensive analysis of the commitments made by our country within the World Trade Organisation.
The Moldovan official, in his capacity as President of the United Nations Trade and Development Council, will chair the work of the UNCTAD intergovernmental group.
At the same time, the visit agenda includes a string of bilateral meetings with UN counterparts and officials including: UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, UNCTAD Deputy Secretary, Director-General of the UN Office in Geneva, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organisation.
