Moldovan democrats’ counselor to be excluded from party

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ – The local councilor from Democrats’ party of Moldova (PDM) in Corjeuti mayor’s office, Briceni district, which was drunk driving a car into a seven – year – old child, will be excluded from the party. The announcement was made today by the leader of Democrats, Vlad Plahotniuc, at the end of weekly meeting of the party.

According to Plahotniuc, decision to exclude him has already been sent for execution to territorial organisation.

"Today we have questioned the case of regrettable accident committed by the local councilor, Iurie Groza, in Briceni. PDM firmly condemns his behaviour, both before the accident, when drunk driving and then by fleeing from the place of the accident. We will never tolerate such irresponsible and cowardly behaviour by anyone," said Plahotniuc.

The case took place on the evening of Sunday, 25 February, around 19:40 in Corjeuti village, Briceni district. The seven – year – old boy was returning with his mother from church when he was mortally buffered by a car of Toyota model driven by a 31 – year – old man.
