Speaker of parliament says Moldova’s road to EU easier to cover with Romania

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ – "Moldova's road to the EU is easier to cover with Romania alongside. Beyond political disputes, Moldova and Romania will develop together good projects," said Speaker of Parliament, Andrian Candu, at a meeting with Romanian Prime Minister, Viorica Dancila.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, Andrian Candu mentioned that the Parliament of Moldova would provide further support for implementation of the Moldovan – Romanian projects in progress. This is the project of interconnection of Moldova to the European energy market and ensuring energy security of Moldova, SMURD project, support of Romanian investments, including the financial field.
At her part, Viorica Dancila said that Romania would continue supporting Moldova on the European integration path by supporting several joint projects. "In the centennial year and before the presidency of the EU Council, we need to have several joint projects. Romania has been and will be the ambassador of Moldova at European level," said the Prime Minister of Romania.
Viorica Dancila proposed that the first joint Government meeting, planned for first semester of 2018, to be completed with a joint meeting between the Parliaments of Moldova and Romania.
