Prime ministers of Moldova, Romania discuss with representatives of Euroregion Siret – Prut – Nistru

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ – The ways to intensify the cooperation at local level between Moldova and Romania were discussed today at the Forum of Presidents of the Siret – Prut – Nistru Euroregion, with the participation of Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and Romanian Prime Minister, Viorica Dancila, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Filip appreciated the platform activity, bringing together 29 districts from Moldova, Balti municipality, Gagauzia and three counties in Romania – Iasi, Prahova and Bistrita – Nasaud. "This platform is extremely necessary for establishment of new partnerships, for exchange of experience and good practices," said the Prime Minister. Thus, Pavel Filip urged local authorities, members of Euroregion Association Siret – Prut – Nistru, to make full use of the opportunities offered in this format of cooperation.
At the same time, Pavel Filip assured of entire opening of the Government in communication with local public administration, mentioning the dynamics of dialogue being a priority for 2018, as evidenced by frequent meetings with local authorities organized recently.
Prime Minister of Romania, Viorica Dancila, confirmed that Chisinau and Bucharest Executive Agencies have been planning to extend good cooperation existing at central level in local administration, this cooperation being essential for the European path of Moldova. The Romanian official also emphasized the relevance of activities carried out by Association, mentioning the need to intensify intercultural exchanges.
At their turn, members of the Association sent a thank – you message to Romanian authorities for financial assistance in realization of various social projects. Also, meeting participants analyzed the status of current activities and outlined priorities of perspectives.
The Euroregion Association Siret – Prut – Nistru was established in 2005. Its aim is to improve relations between local communities and central authorities as to ensure sustainable and balanced development of regions. The Association's activities cover various areas of interest as: economy, infrastructure, agriculture and rural development to education, information society and culture.
