Moldovan premier affirms on prerequisites for cheaper medicines by 9 per cent

Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, said at government meeting today that there to exist prerequisites for lower cost of 1,400 medicines by 9 per cent on average, as a result of appreciation of the Moldovan leu on background of the stabilisation of banking and financial system.
The Prime Minister asked the Medicines Agency (AM) and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection (MSMPS) to come up with a recalculation of the price of some medicines for a week. "The process is already underway, but I would like to hurry it because data indicate a possible decrease in price of medicines, on average by 9 per cent," said Pavel Filip.
"I ask officials of MSMPS and AM to tell next week when we can proceed to cheaper medicines," said the PM.
In November 2017, AM announced that 360 titles being bought by distributors at lower prices. There were cheapened such medicines, like: analgesic, antibiotic, antibacterial and pharmaceutical products needed for persons suffering from heart failure or respiratory infections,.
