Moldovan citizens to be able to travel to Turkey on basis of identity cards

Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/ – The citizens of Moldova and Turkey will be able to travel from one country to another on basis of identity card. In this respect, the Cabinet of Ministers approved initiation of negotiations on draft protocol to amend Agreement of both states on mutual abolition of visas today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, the travel conditions for citizens in Moldova and Turkey will be facilitated by extending the list of acts that allow entry into territory of the two countries. The new provisions will provide right to enter the territory of the same country for the same period as in case of passports. Also, people who want to travel for more than 90 days, as well as those who enter the territory of Moldova or Turkey in order to work or study, will be obliged to obtain a long stay entry visa.
Starting 2014, on basis of the Agreement between Government of Moldova and Government of Turkey on reciprocal abolition of visas, citizens of both countries are exempted from the visa requirement for entry, exit, transit and temporary stay on the territory of the two states for a term up to 90 days.
