Moldova pleads for promotion of renewable energy, organic agricultural products, trade facilitation within UNECE Regional Forum

Chisinau, 01 March /MOLDPRES/ – Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, led the Delegation of Moldova to Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe today. Moldovan Delegation also included State Secretary, Iuliana Dragalin, responsible for international cooperation within the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI), the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and interaction service has reported.
In his speech, Minister Ulianovschi referred to need of implementing UN Sustainable Development Goals among 56 UNECE member states, emphasizing need to reduce technical and regulatory barriers in development of regional trade.
As Chairman of Economic Affairs of the Committee on Capacities and Trade Standards for Europe, Minister reiterated contributions of Economic Commission for Europe to developing economic cooperation, promoting sustainable energy, facilitating transport infrastructure among 56 UNECE member states, as well as implementation of environmental policies within commitments made under the Paris Environmental Agreement.
Similarly, Tudor Ulianovschi thanked UNECE leadership for technical and financial assistance provided to Moldova in developing the National Action Plan in the field of trade facilitation and diminishing regulatory barriers to trade.
Within UNECE Regional Forum, Moldova presented its experience of organic production and consumption policies in agricultural and food security sector.
