Moldovan PM meets Atlantic Council representatives

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/- The prospects for the Moldovan-American strategic dialogue, the implementation of the reforms in Moldova and the priorities for ensuring regional stability were discussed by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Atlantic Council representatives – Vice President Damon Wilson and Ambassadors Alexander Vershbow and John Herbst.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the premier thanked for the good cooperation between our country and the Atlantic Council, and appreciated the analytical centre’s contribution to building a constructive approach from the international transatlantic community.
Filip told about the active reform program implemented in Moldova, and pointed out that during the two years the government was able to restore foreign partners’ confidence and significant increase in EU popularity. At the same time, the premier highlighted the importance of an open and permanent communication with foreign partners in order to be able to clearly assess the evolution of things in the country.
In this context, Damon Wilson praised the government’s determination to carry out reforms, particularly in advancing the justice reform and fighting corruption. The centre’s representatives also underlined that they support the constructive commitment of the US to resolve existing regional problems and to ensure stability. In this respect, the interparliamentary conference is a source of inspiration for developing a long-term strategy.
